Atlas Film Critics awards announced

Paarijatham, directed by Kurup Mararikulam, is the best TV serial.
________________________________________
Thiruvananthapuram: Paarijatham, directed by Kurup Mararikulam and screened by Asianet, has been selected the best TV serial for the Atlas Film Critics Award 2010. .
Devaragam, directed by Madhu Thathampalli, won the award for the second best serial . The award for the best director went to Suresh Unnithan for his serial Thulabharam shown on Surya TV. Ravi Vallathol was adjudged the best actor and Rasana the best actress for their performance in Paarijatham. Suresh Thiruvalla and Sobha Mohan who starred in Thulabharam are the second best actor and actress respectively.
Colours of Rain, directed by Rajesh Raghavan, was declared the best telefilm
while Ottakkoru Penkutty, directed by Binukumar Vellimadu, was selected the second best. Biju Alunkal who directed Mothers' Day bagged the award for the best telefilm director.Ormakalilekkoru Ottayadipatha, directed and produced by Arun Punalur, was adjudged the best documentary while Kaladharande Yatrakal, directed by K.S. Prasad, won the award for the second best documentary.
Kurup Mararikulam also won the T.N. Gopinathan Nair gold medal for his overall contribution to the TV world. The special jury award for telecinema went to Thalaq directed by Shaji Nooranad while that for documentary was bagged by Ottayal directed by Shiny Jacob Benjamin. Mala Aravindan and Indrans won the special jury prize for acting for their performance in the telefilms Midnight and Ottakoru Penkutty respectively.
The jury comprised George Onakkoor as chairman and M.F. Thomas, Thekkinkadu Joseph, S. Sundaresan and Vattapara Ramachandran as members. Atlas Group chairman M.M. Ramachandran and Film Critics president Thekkinkadu Joseph announced the awards here on Wednesday.
